Ingredients

Both partners cook these together

  • 4 cup boxed tomato soup
  • 4 slice sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp butter (or vegan butter)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves

Vegan Path

Vegan Cheddar Melt

  • ½ cup shredded vegan cheddar

Omnivore Path

Sharp Cheddar Melt

  • 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced

Instructions

Cook Together

    Warm the tomato soup in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in fresh basil at the end.

    Butter both sides of each bread slice for grilling.

Vegan Path

  1. 1

    Layer vegan cheddar between two slices and grill in a skillet until golden and melty, about 3 minutes per side. Serve with one bowl of soup.

Omnivore Path

    Layer cheddar between the other two slices and grill in a skillet until golden and melty, about 3 minutes per side. Serve with the other bowl of soup.
