5-Min Bolognese
Jarred marinara, dried pasta, and a 90-second protein swap — bolognese for tired Tuesdays
Two Proteins, One Meal
Ingredients
Shared Base
Both partners cook these together
- •8 oz spaghetti
- •1½ cup jarred marinara sauce
- •1 tbsp olive oil
- •¼ cup fresh basil leaves
Vegan Path
Canned Green Lentils
- •15 oz can canned green lentils, drained
- •1 tbsp nutritional yeast
Omnivore Path
Browned Ground Beef
- •½ lb ground beef (85% lean)
- •¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
Cook Together

Boil spaghetti according to package directions (about 8 minutes). While it cooks, warm the marinara in a saucepan over low heat.

Split the warmed marinara into two skillets — one for each path.
Vegan Path
- 1
Stir drained lentils and nutritional yeast into one skillet of marinara. Toss with half the pasta and top with fresh basil.
Omnivore Path
- 1
In the other skillet, push the marinara to one side and brown the ground beef in olive oil for 4 minutes. Stir together, toss with the remaining pasta, and top with Parmesan and basil.
