Juicy burgers with all the classic fixings and crispy oven fries
Two Proteins, One Meal
Ingredients
Shared Base
Both partners cook these together
- •2 brioche buns
- •4 romaine lettuce leaves
- •1 tomato, sliced
- •4 dill pickles, sliced
- •1 large russet potato, cut into fries
- •2 tbsp ketchup
- •1 tbsp yellow mustard
- •2 tbsp olive oil
Vegan Path
Black Bean Patty
- •15 oz can black beans, drained
- •⅓ cup breadcrumbs
- •1 tsp smoked paprika
- •2 tbsp vegan mayo
Omnivore Path
Beef Patty
- •¾ lb ground beef (80/20)
- •2 cheddar cheese slices
- •1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Cook Together

Preheat oven to 425°F. Cut potato into fries, toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway.

Prepare burger toppings: wash and dry lettuce, slice tomato, and set out pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

Toast brioche buns cut-side down in a skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden.
Vegan Path
- 1
Mash black beans in a bowl, leaving some chunks. Mix in breadcrumbs, smoked paprika, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into 2 patties.

Pan-fry black bean patties in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side until a crispy crust forms.

Assemble burgers with vegan mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and black bean patty. Serve with oven fries.
Omnivore Path

Season ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into 2 patties slightly larger than the buns (they shrink when cooked).

Grill or pan-sear patties over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side for medium. Top with cheddar in the last minute and cover to melt.

Assemble burgers with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and beef patty. Serve with oven fries.
